DFI Day 1 Reflection

I have had a great day today. Thank you.

The pace of today’s learning was just great. I am reasonably fluent with google but within a few minutes there were new things that I learned how to do that will speed up my workload or make what I do more efficient. A huge thank you to Dorothy, Gerhard and the team for being so organised and having the resources readily at hand to make accessing the learning very easy.

It was great to have the whole group instruction and then the small group to ask questions or get more detail and then time to play.

Today was an example of "I don’t know what I don’t know". Sometimes I find ways to do things that work for me but they may not be the best solution. Just having someone show you how they do something sometimes opens up the possibilities. (Lots of use of "some" in that previous sentence).

Main new learning for me was voice typing. I have seen it but never really played with it before. I am not sure about how I might use this in my daily work. I can usually type at about the speed that I think and I am not sure but having to go back and fix up the errors may irritate me. I shall have to play and see what I think.
